BIOGRAPHY
Jordan Askill is a jeweller and designer creating awareness of fragile ecosystems by depicting terrestrial and marine species through observation and research. His work resonates through community-building and explores the concept of what is 'precious'—both in a piece of jewellery and in a vulnerable species—portrayed through a hyper-real lens.

ABOUT
Jordan Askill was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. In 2000, he moved to London to intern with Alexander McQueen. Upon returning to Sydney, he joined the Australian denim brand Ksubi, later becoming part of the design team at Dior Homme in Paris. After four years, he moved back to London to develop his namesake jewellery brand, launching his debut collection at London Fashion Week in 2010. Collaborations in art and design, as well as private label commissions, soon followed. In 2013, Jordan relocated to New York, where he collaborated with the Danish jewellery house Georg Jensen, won a British Fashion Award, and became a finalist in the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. During this time, his collection expanded to be carried by retailers such as Colette, Dover Street Market, Liberty, and Opening Ceremony. In 2019, he returned to Sydney to study marine biology and develop JORDAN ASKILL LABS.

CHAPTERS
‘Chapters’ represent Jordan Askill’s body of work, with each piece of jewellery or sculpture acting as a three-dimensional character or scene within the chapter. A conceptual story unfolds, informed by the animal conservation projects he is involved in. “I’ve been drawn to jewellery because I love the idea that you can give a story to a tangible object".

CONSERVATION
Jordan Askill supports conservation organizations to raise funds, awareness, and education for at-risk terrestrial and marine wildlife. In 2019, while studying marine biology at the University of Technology Sydney, he began collaborating with Professor David Booth on a project aimed at protecting and propagating the weedy seadragon population in Australia’s Great Southern Reef. He is a member of the Taronga Zoo Conservation Society fundraising committee for Zoofari and supports nonprofits, including Aussie Ark and The Sapphire Project. Jordan is currently working on a project to support weedy seadragon protection in the Great Southern Reef.
